[ARCHIVED] KPD Receives Computer Donation

On March 20, 2014 the Knoxville Police Department received seven Panasonic ToughBook computers that were donated by MidAmerican Energy. The Department hopes to use these units to reduce the need for officers to go to the Police Station to complete reports. We also hope to use the computers to file citations and other paperwork with the Clerk of Courts Office as part of the electronic filing program that began earlier this month.
The Police Department is extremely grateful to MidAmerican Energy for the donation. We want to thank MidAmerican Energy employee Bruce Lefler for letting the Department know these computers were available and helping KPD apply for them.
